Pricey Pictures...

I feel like I have to get pictures, because your kids grow so fast and you need some memory of them, right? I finally got an appointment and got some pictures to share, but they were really pricey. Does anyone have some ideas to knock the price down, but still get good pictures?

Hot Bod

One of the counselors from Oakcrest when I was a cook back in the day keeps up an awesome blog. Once she had this video from You Tube from a stay at home dad doing workouts with the things you watch...your kids. "People always ask me, they say, 'Dave [or whatever his name was] how did you get such a hot bod?' And I tell them I can't go to the gym all the time. So I'm going to show you with this simple workout video." And then he does this bar lifting with a toddler and curls with a baby. "If you find the weight distracting, like if they're laughing at your or something, just look away." He also did sit ups with a baby and they think it's some type of peek-a-boo game, but really you're in incredible pain...

In my efforts to get a hot bod while being a stay at home mom, I tried it out. Here's me doing sit ups with Gavon. Paul is recording, and Gavon kept looking at the camera and he gets all serious when he does.

Pampered Chef Mystery Piece

I thought I'd share the good news. I lost a pampered chef attachment to my teaspoon and haven't seen it for almost 9 months. I saw it in the move, but then it disappeared again. I was looking through some bibs today, and walah! There it was. How did it get there? I have no idea.

No more washing huge measuring cups just to use 1/4 teaspoon.

We miss you Daddy!

Videos

A successful first time with solid food.

Dance Magic Dance

The one with Shay and Gavon on the floor has Clint Eastwood music going on in the background. That's for you Dad! It was from some movie with Clint Eastwood and a nun..."If you weren't a nun, I'd let you save your own bacon."

Shay's new word

Shayden likes to say "Sure."

Me: "Do you want to take your coat off?"
Shay: "Sure."

Me: "Do you want some juice?"
Shay: "Sure."

P.S. Gavon's first taste of solid food went well today. He thought it was pretty weird...videos to come.

Easter Catch Up

We had a great Easter! Tom and Lisa invited us to Tom's family party and we had a fun Easter Egg Hunt with Prizes, and met a lot of cool people. Jennifer got all the cool pictures, so I'll have to get them from her. She got one of Gavon laughing that was sooooo cute. Shayden had so much fun. We were also able to see Cuyler, go to Caitlyn's Bridal shower, and hang out with Teri, Casey, Audry, Daryl, and Jaime. Taryn and Tyler were there for a little too. We also went to a dinner/party at Gwen's house and saw Kristi and Lynette. Wow! Talk about fun seeing everyone. I'll try to post more pictures as they become available.

For now, here's a video I'm finally able to post of Lee and Shayden dressed as pirates going to Luke's Party.

Never Change Your Baby at Walmart

Eebie Jeebies.....
Yesterday I went to Walmart...for the most stupid reason. The night before I went to pick up a prescription for Shayden (another ear infection) and got a bunch of other stuff and bought, spur of the moment, a quart of chocolate milk. When we got home to enjoy a nice cup of chocolate milk, it turned out to be sour. So the next day, I went into town and just as I was about to go into Walmart for the sole purpose of returning this $1.72 quart of chocolate milk...I know, taking advantage of being in town to get every dollar I can, I guess...Gavon filled a good diaper for me. I've changed diapers in the car before, and it really kills my back, so I decided to trek it out in the Walmart changing area. I was all grossed out in the first place because GROSS! I didn't want Shayden to touch anything, so she stood by me while I layed a bunch of paper towles on the table so there would be something between Gavon and grossness. The process went pretty smoothly without as big a mess as it could have been.

While I was changing away this little girl, probably 3 or 4-years-old, came in with an adult to use the restroom. She walked into the first stall..."That one is yucky."--little girl. "That's right, let's go to the next one."--adult. "No, leave the toilet seat down." --adult.

As I finished up and put Gavon in his car seat on the ground I looked over at the little girl who was now on the ground climbing out from under a stall on her hands and knees. I walked over to quickly wash my hands and go, and glanced over my shoulder to see the girl running toward Gavon and touching his head. A mothers worse nightmare!!!!!! She had been all over a public restroom touching everything and then she touched my baby's head! Gag, gag. There are so many germs going around in the first place, there's no other sure fire way to get sick then that right there. I grabbed her arm away and got tears in my eyes thinking of RSV, and any other deadly thing for a baby. I got out of there as fast as I possibly could, and even left my package of 50 wipes on the changing table. This morning Gavon had a slight cough and runny nose. Stinkin' Walmart girl. I'm pretty bitter.

"Hotel" Mantz is now open for business.

This may look like a desperate attempt to get some visitors, but take it anyway you wish

With spring springing and the smell of flowers in the air our family is ready to have a fun summer. Paul will have a very smooth transition from school getting out and not having to look for a job. Shayden is having severe Cabin-Fever and Gavon is a happy kid no matter where he is at as long as mommy comes along for the ride.

We are looking to do some camping, site seeing and visiting family this summer and hope people can come up and join the fun when convenient. We are hoping others will want to go on some trips with us to a few southern Utah sites and we might even try and throw in a Yosemite trip. Feel free to contact us if there is a trip you want to do with our family or come and visit us.

It is going to be a summer of BBQs, fishing trips, hikes, bike rides, camping and we hope everyone can join in on the fun.

I'm a Big Girl Now

Shay likes to pretend to go poop! She hasn't gone yet, but she has a little stool and likes to sit there.

We went to Luke's pirate party today. He turned 6! Here's Paul being a pirate.

P.S. Yeah for conference!

Gone Runnin'

To cope with all the stress that life dishes out to a mom, and to enjoy being outside to see wildlife, hear the birds and breathe some fresh air, (sort of) I run to this sweet bus stop and back every day. It's made out of chicken coup like boards and has a carpeted seat...cool huh? It's a little over 3 miles.

We live about 1 1/2 miles from the city dump, so every once and a while when the wind blows from that direction it stinks like the dickens. Running those days isn't the best. It still gets me out of the house though, and feeling like a person.

I took the camera with me yesterday, so enjoy...

Grandma Sheffer

When we went to Grandma Sheffer's house a while ago she said, "If your kids were in an orphanage, they'd be the first ones to go."
