My New (to me) Felt S25 triathlon bike

This will be my mode of transportation for the summer. I will have to probably buy a head lamp for the morning, I will be riding this puppy at 3:30 a.m. every morning.

I also bought this bike for several other reasons. One is my knee, I hurt it pretty bad playing Basketball about a month ago and it is still really stiff, I will be getting to checked out here soon. Another is that, as much as I hate to say it, I am a little softer around the edges now than from a few years ago. Which is really embarrassing for me to admit. I blame Raychel's cooking, its all her fault...100%.

No, it's not her fault, I am setting the goal (with my knee permitting) to train for a triathlon around a year from now, I still need to pic out a race. I need a goal like that get my sexy body back into better shape.

So with cycling taking half of my training it will help my knee get stronger without the impact of running.

I have already taken this thing for a short little ride and before I knew it I went about 4 miles, I am so stoked.

Garden Attempt

I'm venturing a garden! Yah, you're probably saying go Raychel! You can do it.... But it's already hitting rock bottom, and it's my first day. I planted peas yesterday and then, we got 2-3 inches of snow this morning. I covered them with a tarp, so we'll see if they survive. We'll have 4 tomato plants, 2 zuchini squash plants and then a bunch of sugar snap peas. That's all I dare to try at first. Maybe next year I'll do peppers, spices, cucumbers, and other daring things.

I saw a baby today with leg warmers...cool!

Paul bought a nice new road bike off of KSL yesterday that he's real excited about. He's going to ride it to work over the summer.

I've been doing lots of stuff through Early Head Start...way cool! They had a parenting conference yesterday and I learned about 72 hour kits, gardening, and got some good scrapbooking ideas. I get so excited when I learn cool things. I feel like my personality learns best by example. "This is how you do it," goes a lot farther for me than "There you go...explore your options." I decided to sign Shayden up for Early Head Start to have a guiding hand in the way I teach her.

Disciplining has been a hoot. Oh, man. I've gone from, "What do I do?" to "This is how it is." I went to a Love and Logic class offered in Logan, and I'm getting more of an idea of what I feel is right. It's been hard for me because I would let Shayden do whatever she wanted until she got to be about 12 months. Then she needed more of a boundary to learn. I'll keep you updated on the happenin's

Chicken/Couch/Angel Child

Rosemary Chicken... This hits Paul's spot. He loves it.

2 tsp olive oil
1 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 lb chicken
1 (14.5 oz) can stewed tomatoes, undrained
1 1/2 cups navy beans (ready to eat)
1/4 cup olives

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Combine rosemary, salt and peper; sprinkle over one side of chicken. Place chicken in a pan with seasoned side down, cook 3 min. Reduce heat and turn chicken. Add tomatoes and bean, cover and simmer 10 min. or until chicken is done. Top with olives.
Our new couch!

Gavon is pretty much an angel child. This is a dark video of him laughing.

Our New House

This is the outside of our house. It's 2 years old, a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, one level house. Rent is $127 cheaper then our 2 bedroom apartment, and we have a little pot garden we're going to try to pull off. I'm so excited! Our back yard is the neighborhood park. The other day I was drying stuff off and moms at the park were watching me...little bit weird. Our neighbors are super cool, though. The day we moved in 2 people brought us cookies and that next week one invited us to dinner. Every 2 weeks all the moms in the neighborhood get together and play games. This last week we played Hoopla Cranium...I totally recommend it. It was way fun. We really miss our old ward, but Heavenly Father is watching out for us. Our new ward is really big, and Paul was afraid we would get lost in the crowd, but we've been meeting lots of people and it's been good. I'll try to get a video of the inside of our house soon. We have to drive an extra 10 minutes to get anywhere, but we think it's been worth the move.

Pictures Galore

Wow! We've got to catch up. It's been a long while. We just got internet last week and we've been pretty busy. I just put a bunch of pictures together from the past month. Enjoy!Me and Alisa dress a lot alike on accident. Sisters rock!

Shayden and Gavon hanging out on Dad.
Playing at Lynette's house. Yeah!
We went to Moab this last weekend to play with a bunch of family and friends. It was like summer day with outside A.C. Awesome!!!
Kam and Alisa ran the Moab 1/2 Marathon. They did awesome!! Me and Levi ran with them the last little bit. Way to go guys!
This is a random picture from before the move. There's a video to go with this one at the bottom of the post.
Shayden likes to put on Dad's shorts.
This picture is so sad...mid cough. She had a nasty green runny nose and gunked up eyes. She would wake up like this and it would get a little better through the day. The doctor said her left ear was infected and her right had fluid behind it. Antibiotics for 10 days. She's better now. It was crazy how happy she was through it all. Once she coughed so hard she threw up and looked at her hands and said "Buddies!" That's what she calls bubbles.
All of my brothers and sisters got together for a play and dinner a few weeks ago. Fun! We saw "Home School Musical."

Here's our wierd ability shining through again.

Happy!

Shayden got hungry and started eating her sock.

Kami and Levi are on top of that mountain to the left of the left tree. They had fun hiking around.
Camping!
Shay went on a walk with Grandpa.

Biking Slick Rock
On the way up to the delicate arch we watched an awesome sunset.
